"Folk art prints" (Nianhua) are the folk art that best reflects life, passed down from traditional agricultural societies. Due to geographical disadvantages, Wuqiang in China developed a lifestyle of "supplementing farming with art." Its location as a transportation hub also facilitated sales and promotion, making it one of China's four major centers for folk art prints. Through woodblock printing, detailed drawings are made, and then each stroke is carved with sincerity, embodying hopes for the future. Finally, colors are applied, and auspicious patterns brimming with festive joy welcome the new year. Looking through these folk art prints is like opening a treasure trove of folk art, documenting the rich cultural life of the common people. To view or receive a folk art print is to accept the wishes and blessings for the coming year, meticulously carved by the creators.
