**Prosperity and Fortune**
The countryside of Yilan is like the Peach Blossom Spring described in ancient texts, with fertile fields, beautiful ponds, mulberry trees, and bamboo groves, where paths crisscross and the sounds of chickens and dogs can be heard. Dogs of various appearances often stand guard in front of rural homes, symbolizing safety and protection, carrying auspicious meanings of good fortune. The "woof woof" sound of dogs, often heard in the countryside, is homophonous with "wang" (prosperous), signifying wealth and prosperity for both family and fortune, symbolizing thriving prosperity.
During traditional Lunar New Year celebrations, every household hangs red lanterns to create an atmosphere of joy and reunion. Spring Festival lanterns carry the auspicious meaning of "hong" (red) luck befalling upon one.
The plum blossom blooms before all other flowers, heralding spring alone. It is revered as an auspicious symbol of good tidings for spring. A common saying goes, "A branch of plum blossom signifies the New Year." Each blooming plum blossom adds to the festive spirit of the approaching Spring Festival. The five petals of the plum blossom also symbolize longevity, wealth, health, virtue, and a peaceful end – the "Five Blessings Descending Upon the Home."
【Craftsmanship】
Hand-glazed. Blue and white decal application.
★ This piece is handmade, embracing a relaxed feel and natural variations. Due to high-temperature firing, the final shape may not be perfectly round, and each piece will have slight differences in size and form.
The white glaze is hand-dipped, resulting in natural flow patterns and minor imperfections. The hand-applied blue and white decals will exhibit variations in color intensity after firing. Occasional natural brown iron spots or blue glaze specks may appear. Please refrain from ordering if you have extremely high expectations regarding color consistency.
