Hand-painted with natural urushi lacquer. The process involves meticulously applying and polishing 72 layers of colored lacquer by hand. This maturation process, which develops a certain luster, requires 3-6 months of dedicated effort. Following this, each stroke is carefully painted. The artwork possesses a tangible thickness and visible brushstrokes, capturing the spirit and form of figures and animals with a freehand, expressive style, distinct from meticulous traditional Chinese painting. In addition to Mr. Amo's unique techniques, the individual brushstrokes incorporate Japanese Maki-e techniques, allowing the subtle textures to remain visible. Unlike typical lacquer pens with flat, uniform surfaces that conceal brushwork, the Lao Shanyang natural lacquer paintings reveal the artistry of each stroke, using lively lines to define the subject. Beyond serving as a static desk ornament, it is a complete work of art. Striving for perfection, this piece is not made in Japan or China, does not use chemical coatings, and is not printed. Lao Shanyang opens a new frontier in natural lacquer craftsmanship, creating a novel domain for natural lacquer fountain pens through innovative methods. With exquisite artistry, it redefines fountain pens as both functional writing instruments and collectible treasures, offering a new aesthetic. These fountain pens are not merely for the pleasure of handwriting and the smooth glide on paper; the natural lacquer urushi painted fountain pens are also exquisite desk art pieces.

Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When storing, please do not keep the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
Gentle Reminder: Avoid pressing down hard on the nib or writing at an angle (for right-handed users, it is recommended to hold the pen so the nib points towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position when writing) to prevent iridium point misalignment and scratching or ink flow issues. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink build-up and clogging, which can affect writing quality.
Gentle Reminder: Flexible steel nibs have a certain tolerance for pressure. Begin writing with a light touch, then gradually increase pressure to test the nib's flexibility. Downward pressure can slightly spread the tines; horizontal strokes should be made with a light touch. Avoid applying pressure in an unfocused manner or excessive force, which can lead to nib damage or misalignment.
