Artist introduction_
Herbert Thomas Dicksee was a British painter born in 1862, known for his sensitive depictions of dogs, lions, and tigers. The Dicksee family was well-known in the art world. His father was also an artist, and his nephew Sir Frank Dicksee served as president of the Royal Academy in London from 1924 to 1928. Herbert won a scholarship to study at the Slade School of Art in London, where his first paintings were exhibited in 1881. Many of Dixie's masterpieces were converted into prints and etchings and exhibited at the Clackner Gallery in London. He died in Hampstead, England, on February 20, 1942.
