These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring kintsugi, upcycled from pottery by Matsugunzan Pottery (Shounzan Gama) in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Cracked or chipped pottery that is no longer in use is upcycled and adorned with kintsugi to be reborn as accessories.
The concept behind these pieces is to bring the beauty of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future and create new possibilities.
Delicate freshwater pearls are paired with elegant, light blue pottery fragments.
The freshwater pearls gently sway with movement, adding a touch of refined grace.
Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to shimmer beautifully from every angle, enhancing the overall sense of sophistication.
These pieces are perfect as a unique accent to elevate both casual and elegant outfits.
Length: Pottery fragment: 15 x 12mm, Total length: 28mm
Metal fittings: Surgical stainless steel ear posts (metal fittings cannot be changed)
Weight: The pottery fragments are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
Each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, making it an ideal gift for someone special.
*As these are finished, one-of-a-kind items, we cannot accept requests for changes to the metal fittings or for re-production.
*We will send the item shown in the photos. However, if the item has already been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in the color, pattern, and size of the pottery fragments and natural stones compared to the photos.
*"Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair technique that mends broken or chipped pottery and porcelain using lacquer and gold powder. These pieces are crafted using a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional kintsugi which uses natural lacquer sap, this method utilizes adhesive for bonding. The kintsugi parts are made with lacquer (a manufacturer-created paint, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also used for reinforcement.
