Imagining and Creating New Landscapes in 2019 - Taoyuan Land Art Festival International Forum

The forum's keynote speeches were divided into two parts. The first, "Art x Vitality x Interpretation," featured discussions with Professor Sophie Goltz from the Centre for Contemporary Art, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Carlos Quijon, Jr., a curator from Manila. The second part, "Landscape x Future x Creation," included presentations by Mr. Meruro Washida, curator of the 2019 Aichi Triennale in Japan, Ms. Wen-Hui Peng, Director of the Department of Landscape Architecture at Chung Yuan Christian University, and Ms. Yun-Yi Lee, curator of the East Coast Land Art Festival. Established in 2013 by the Taoyuan City Government, the Taoyuan Land Art Festival focuses on the local environmental textures and the cultural context of the city. In 2019, the festival was organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs and overseen by the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts for overall planning. In addition to artistic exhibitions, it fostered international dialogue through a series of global forums, creating a documented record of thought and discourse for the development of land art.
