It was known as the bishop's stone in the Christian world, and all Christians wore a ring made of it. It has long been known as a "stone to prevent intoxication," and it is believed to have been associated with the wish to avoid being overwhelmed by emotional waves. Silver 925 Silver 925 (also known as sterling silver) is made from 92.5% silver mixed with other metals such as copper. Because 100% pure silver is not durable enough for jewelry, 925 silver is often used for jewelry. It is also notable that 925 silver as a base metal is rarely sold to the general public.
