Instead of firing in the electric kiln that I normally use at home, I had the pieces fired in a kerosene kiln at the pottery maker that I am currently using. The pottery is fired using a method called reduction firing, which creates an oxygen shortage inside the kiln during firing, allowing you to enjoy a refined flavor that cannot be produced in an electric furnace. The glazes used are original to the pottery manufacturer, and offer colors and textures that cannot be found anywhere else. The cute round trefoil shape makes this a great dish to use for everyday side dishes and desserts.
