Crafted from a unique blend of white and red clay, the exact composition varies with each creation. After shaping into a delightfully round yunomi, it's fired with a subtle off-white matte glaze and a deep, forest-like green glaze. This cup invites you to appreciate its charming, rounded form and the rich textures created by the interplay of clay and glaze. The interior boasts a lighter, off-white hue, allowing you to enjoy the vibrant colors of clear beverages like sencha green tea or black tea. All our pieces are handmade in our studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. Every step, from wedging the clay and shaping to bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, is done by hand. To protect your surfaces, the base of each cup is carefully sanded to minimize scratching. To address this, all our tableware undergoes a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant, eliminating the need for initial soaking. This process takes 2-3 days, hence our 5-day shipping window. If you prefer to forgo the waterproofing treatment, please notify us at the time of purchase. - The glazes' colors can appear differently depending on the lighting. They may look whiter under natural morning light or cool white LEDs, and more reddish or yellowish under evening light or warm-toned lamps. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - We strive to capture product images that are as true to life as possible.
