This coffee cup pair set is designed for sharing special moments. It comes with versatile saucers that can also be used as small plates for sweets or desserts.
**The Story of "Shuzan Blue"**
The deep, captivating blue glaze is based on an original recipe left by the founder, Shuji. In his later years, he insisted on using local Koishiwara clay to create this unique blue pottery.
This legacy has been passed down to the second generation, Shigenobu, and the third generation, Takeshi. They have evolved the original recipe, adding various expressions to create modern masterpieces.
From patterns resembling the cosmos or rings to textures evoking the vast ocean, we strive to express the infinite possibilities of indigo blue. Customers have affectionately named this color "Shuzan-blue." We aim to create one-of-a-kind, design-oriented pottery that brings this unique blue into your daily life.
**Media Coverage**
Shuzan Kiln was featured on NHK BS Premium's "Ippin" (broadcast Oct 20, 2020) as a leading example of the evolution of Fukuoka's Koishiwara Ware. It has also been introduced by various local TV stations in Fukuoka.
**Notes**
■ Actual colors may differ slightly from the photos due to monitor settings.
■ Small indentations of about 1mm, known as "pinholes," may occur. These are characteristic of pottery and are not defects.
