About the Poet | Li He was a renowned poet of the middle-to-late Tang Dynasty. Known by the nickname "Poet Ghost," he is celebrated for his extraordinary imagination and exquisite language. His work blends romanticism with mystery, often using fantastical dreams and supernatural scenes to metaphorically describe life's realities. Despite his early passing, his profound influence remains. Later critics dubbed his style "Ghost Talent, Heavenly Language," ranking him alongside Li Bai and Du Fu as one of the most distinctive poets in history. "Dreaming of Heaven" is among his masterpieces. The entire poem uses celestial imagery to symbolize ideals and their disillusionment.
