Matcha Bowl - Iron Brushstroke Design

This matcha bowl, made from Shigaraki clay, is adorned with dynamic brushstrokes. The vibrant flow and delicate textures of the brushwork, combined with the earthy feel of the clay, result in a piece that is both aesthetically pleasing and deeply evocative. Beyond brewing and savoring matcha, you can also appreciate the beauty of the vessel itself. This piece begins with a bowl meticulously shaped on the potter's wheel, onto which brushstrokes are applied with an iron glaze. The iron glaze used for these strokes was prepared in our own studio, using raw materials sourced from nearby rice paddies. The foot of the bowl is also carefully finished, providing a stable base. The color palette is designed to beautifully highlight the matcha. This versatile piece can be used as a matcha bowl, a rice bowl, or even a small donburi bowl. It pairs effortlessly with other tableware and makes an ideal gift for those who appreciate fine ceramics. You will also enjoy how its character deepens with each use.
