Decorating the interior with elements created by hand - embroidery, lace, painting and more - is an ancient Russian tradition. Women in Russia have created almost all home decor with their own hands since ancient times. These were curtains for windows with embroidery elements in different techniques, cheerful, colorful bedspreads and pillows made of small, beautifully selected pieces of fabric in the patchwork style, openwork napkins, crocheted and bobbin-knitted, towels and bed linen decorated with embroidery and many, many more interesting and beautiful things.
Many manufacturing techniques, styles and decorative patterns are currently disappearing, as lifestyles change and there is no demand. Something disappears completely, something is transformed, absorbing the techniques and traditions of other peoples, and something, unfortunately, remains only in museums.
Unfortunately, the text size for the listing is limited. Therefore, I will continue my story about Russian traditions and crafts in the following listings.
I am reproducing this miniature, like many previous and possibly the following ones, from memory. Similar miniature napkins were present in large quantities in my grandmother's house. She taught me to crochet many, many years ago. I will also write about this later. Subscribe, there will be a lot of new and interesting things.
Now I wanted to reproduce this beauty for use as an element of home decor.
This miniature is well suited for decorating a bedroom or a girl's room. It will add tenderness and comfort, softness and tranquility. After all, these are the qualities that women carry within themselves. And the light, lilac color awakens exactly these feelings.
To create the miniature, I used thin, cotton threads for making clothes. The lilac color of the napkin is supported by the light milky color of the background fabric. The main element is sewn with invisible stitches and very firmly to the main fabric, which is glued to a rigid base.
For the final design, the miniature only needs to be inserted into a frame of the appropriate size and color.
For the indicated amount, you buy only the painting itself, without a frame.
Dimensions of the painting: Width and height 20 cm.
