Looking at the premium works, most of them incorporate traditional designs that require a lot of labor, such as octagonal basket weave, chrysanthemum connection, and chrysanthemum basket weave, and it seemed that many of the works were made using traditional cuts. After much consideration, I decided to create a high-quality piece with vertical lines as the main axis, like the simple bamboo forest rock glass piece. The four-bottom Yarai rock glass is a design that pursues the simple Yarai rock glass to the limit, so I began making it while thinking about what would happen if I expressed the vertical lines of the bamboo forest rock glass to the limit. The front features vertical lines creating a highly designed emblem shape. From the creator's perspective, it gives off a Japanese feel, reminiscent of the windows of a tea room used in the tea ceremony, or of a Japanese house. In the second prototype stage, there was a lot of cutting going on in the glass, leaving almost no color remaining, which made the design unbalanced, so we intentionally created a section with no vertical cuts at all and made adjustments to the overall design. When viewed from above, the vertical stripes of color are an element that give the impression of high design quality.
