This is an SDGs jewelry with Kintsugi, upcycled from pottery by Fukukikama, a kiln in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, known for Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki. We reuse pottery that is broken, chipped, or no longer in use, and remake it into accessories with Kintsugi. Our concept is to create modern accessories that connect to the future, allowing people to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, giving new possibilities to reborn items. We paired elegant purple pottery fragments, which subtly reveal a floral pattern, with amethysts. The sides of the pottery fragments are finished with Kintsugi, so the gold shines through even from the side, adding a touch of sophistication. With a 14K coating, it is allergy-friendly, resistant to tarnishing, and can be enjoyed for a long time. The ring size is 17mm (generally a size 13, depending on the brand), but it is an adjustable type, so the size can be expanded, making it wearable for anyone. This work is created using a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi using sap from the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for bonding.
