The lining is black to prevent discoloration from prolonged wear staining hair, thereby extending the hat's lifespan. Hats, besides being worn, also need to be stored. The newsboy cap features reinforced lining in the brim and band, but it's not the plastic board found in typical ready-to-wear hats. We've opted for reinforced lining to maintain the brim and cap's intended structure, and also for ease of storage. Plastic boards on the market can break if folded, whereas our lining has a certain flexibility that allows it to bend without breaking during storage. However, it's still advisable not to fold the brim, keeping it flat. Some may wonder, "My head isn't that large!" Measuring head circumference is an art. A "head" is essentially like a "globe," where the largest circumference is at the "equator." Any measurement not taken at the equator will naturally be smaller (like a math lesson, haha). Therefore, "different types of hats require different head measurements because they are worn in different positions!" This means, "a person doesn't have just one head circumference; it depends on the hat and how you want to wear it!" The diagram below is provided for reference on the wearing positions for our various hat types (imagine our head model—Mr. Turnip—as your own head XD). To measure your correct head circumference, please refer to the positions indicated by these two lines: 1.
