Original vessels created by ceramic artist Morishita Shingo.
The lid was created by woodworker Yasushi Shimizu to fit the container.
With this combination, a new "lidded container" was created.
This time we would like to introduce the "Black Glaze Scraped-Off Pattern."
The body of the vessel is made of Gotomaki clay. It is coated with ash glaze and fired. It is shaped into a bowl and accented with scratched patterns along with the iron design.
The lid is made of cherry wood and the knob is made of walnut. I designed the knob with the idea of using it as a water jar in mind. The combination of two pillars and a streamlined shape gives the whole piece a good balance.
It can be used as a container, an object, or even a water jar.
So how do you use this?
■Material: Container/Ceramics
Lid: Cherry, walnut
■Size: Outer diameter approx. 260-267mm, height approx. 155mm
*The lid is finished with natural oil. If moisture is left on the lid, it will stain, so please wipe off the moisture as soon as possible. Also, do not use a dish dryer, dry in direct sunlight, or use a microwave, as these may cause cracks or warping.
Also, the lid is not airtight, so it is not suitable as a storage container for items that dislike moisture.
