Artbook Gitai Picture Book #8 PLANETS=BAKERY - Photography Collections - Paper Orange

Product Description

The latest edition of Gitai in 2023 is a photo collection of planets camouflaged with bakery motifs such as bread, coffee, and muffins. The artwork of the camouflaged planets is placed on the left side, while the original planet photos are on the right side, aiming for viewers to compare the common elements on both sides. Gitai #08 Statement: No one would doubt the existence of planets. However, the actual appearance and texture are things almost everyone on Earth cannot know. We recognize planets through media such as encyclopedias, TV, and the internet, without truly perceiving the planets themselves. We have chosen to call this way of cognition "semi-fictional." The theme of semi-fictional perception is not limited to space. Statements from people we have never directly met flowing into our timelines on social media are also semi-fictional. Carelessly, one might feel like they know someone they've never met or spoken to. Continuing experiments with the theme of semi-fictional perception, we have been imagining the taste of planets. In this issue, we intend to observe planets with a sensation similar to looking at them in a bakery, imagining the taste of planets in the process. Although planets and bread are different concepts, we can glimpse the similarity in texture. Changing the color of a curry bun, for example, might make it look like a planet. By blurring the boundary between everyday life and the cosmos, the imagination of taste is born regarding semi-fictional things. If observing planets with a sensation akin to looking at bread can serve as a catalyst for expanding the imagination of the senses towards semi-fictional entities, we would be pleased.
