A full moon on a Christmas night.
A samurai Santa Claus, holding a lantern and wearing a hat.
The pattern is created using a discharge dyeing technique called "bassen," where the color is removed, and then colored using the "katasuri zome" dyeing method.
Made from thin cotton material, it can also be enjoyed as a table runner or a tapestry displayed on a wall.
"Katasuri Zome" (Pattern Stencil Dyeing)
This is a dyeing method where a stencil is fixed onto the fabric, and dye is applied by rubbing with a brush.
It is a dyeing technique used in styles such as Edo Sarasa and Kata Yuzen.
The edges of Tenugui have traditionally been left unfinished.
This unfinished edge is an age-old Japanese wisdom, allowing for quicker drying by preventing moisture from pooling.
Therefore, it is not considered a defective product.
As each piece is hand-dyed, you can enjoy a one-of-a-kind indigo dye that is unique in the world.
The red stick is not included.
This is a sale of the Tenugui only.
Material / 100% Cotton
