The star of the Euphorbia family β
The most popular, most loved, and easiest to care for in the Euphorbia genus is the Coral Euphorbia! Resembling vibrant green asparagus stalks, the Coral Euphorbia has a playful, segmented shape akin to a cactus, but it's thornless, making it safe to handle. Its body is flexible and sprouts small, incredibly tiny and cute leaves. As it grows in a comfortable pot with plenty of sunlight, it forms a beautiful scene reminiscent of coral in the ocean!
Coral Euphorbia (Euphorbia cedrorum), family Euphorbiaceae, genus Euphorbia. Also known as: White Silver Coral, Green Coral. Origin: Madagascar.
A summer-growing succulent, it is drought-tolerant and requires full sunlight. It is primarily propagated by cuttings. When cut, it exudes a white, milky sap which is toxic; avoid contact and ingestion. It is recommended to use a well-draining succulent mix or granular medium. It has no issues with surviving summer heat. Water in summer only after the soil has dried out!
It is very drought-tolerant, requiring watering approximately every two weeks. When it feels thirsty, it will become wrinkled and soft. Water it only at this point. Once it has had its fill, it will gradually become firm and plump again.
It desperately needs sunlight. Insufficient sunlight will cause it to elongate continuously. If you desire a succulent that undergoes significant morphological changes and brings a sense of accomplishment, you can choose to provide it with less direct sunlight and let it grow freely! Coral Euphorbia is a large succulent that can grow quite big and will continuously sprout new "arms." It grows quickly in low light as it constantly seeks sunlight by stretching upwards. If you prefer it to remain short, plump, and full, remember to give it ample, intense sunlight!
Coral Euphorbia is considered a very easy-to-care-for variety, often used in mixed plantings as a background element to add vertical visual interest. Taiwan's climate is generally more humid than its native habitat, so pay attention to ventilation and soil permeability during cultivation!
π« Please note: Most Euphorbia succulents exude a white sap when cut. This sap is toxic, so avoid touching it with your hands or attempting to ingest it! Remember to wash your hands after contact! π«
π Key Highlights: Drought-tolerant, full sun, well-ventilated, permeable soil, water only when dry, sap is poisonous.
