In Huwei, Yunlin, known as Taiwan's "textile town," the number of factories has dwindled from over 200 at its peak to fewer than 50 today. Most have pivoted to producing functional fabrics or eco-friendly textiles, resulting in a low proportion of "Made in Taiwan" towels or handkerchiefs in the market.
