These earrings are crafted by connecting sun-like old Afghan metal parts, abundant tourmaline & herkimer diamonds, indigo blue beads, and ethnic bells.
The sun-like parts are vintage metal pieces from Afghanistan.
They feature beautiful, intricate patterns and a slightly plump form.
The same design is present on both the front and back.
(Afghan part dimensions: 1.6cm diameter, including the loop. 2cm height, 1.3cm width)
We've adorned them with square-cut tourmaline and small, double-terminated herkimer diamonds, like ripe fruit.
Indigo blue Indo-Pacific beads have been incorporated.
These are antique beads known as Indo-Pacific beads.
The origin of Indo-Pacific beads is said to date back to the 2nd century BC.
These particular beads are excavated artifacts from Indonesia, dating back to around the 10th century – over 1000 years old!
They are sandwiched between Karen silver with 18k gold plating.
The bells are parts from the Kuchi tribe of Afghanistan, once part of decorative items, and are vintage pieces.
As the parts and beads gently collide, they create a delicate, rattling sound.
