This teacup is hand-carved inlaid with peonies blooming in the studio garden.
This is a beautiful piece with intricate inlay, a clear deep green color, and fine crazing.
This piece is made by applying white mud to a teacup made on a potter's wheel, leaving it for a while to blend in, then drawing a rough sketch and carefully scraping off the excess. It is then slowly dried, bisque fired, glazed, and finally fired, taking a very long time to complete. The foot is also carefully finished. It is inscribed by hand.
It fits gently in your hand and is smooth to the touch.
This is a piece that would also make a great gift.
You can enjoy watching the porcelain develop crazes and gain depth as you use it.
