Naoko Nakanishi A renowned illustrator and culinary artist from Japan. Her work often features animals, rendered with a simple, pure charm. Following the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, Ms. Nakanishi pondered how she could contribute. A friend suggested she create a drawing each day as a gift, offering solace to those struggling with the deep wounds of trauma in the aftermath. Over time, these artworks culminated in a series of touring exhibitions across Japan by Naoko Nakanishi in 2013. The tabby cat, BonBon, began as Ms. Nakanishi's creation in 2007 and has become the most frequent character in her artwork. This brown tabby cat enjoys visiting markets, cooking, and traveling.
