"Neriage" is a technique in which colorful clay that has been colored with pigments is kneaded together and patterns are created using the centrifugal force and the expansion and contraction of the clay when pulled on a potter's wheel.
The patterns that are produced vary depending on how the clay is kneaded and the time and effort spent on turning the wheel, allowing you to enjoy the randomness that occurs at each stage.
This vessel is made using three-colored clay colored with red and navy blue pigments.
By adjusting the clay to use just a little less pigment than in my previous work, I was able to achieve a softer color.
The somewhat gentle colors are reminiscent of the misty morning sky colored by the morning sun as it peeks out from behind the mountains.
The outside and inside have different colours, creating a gentle and interesting look.
The free cup is a convenient container that can be used for drinks, food, and desserts.
Make some tea or coffee while you relax.
Use it to serve Japanese vegetables, potato salad, or steamed dishes.
Use it for coffee jelly, pudding, or ice cream.
Enjoy it as a colorful addition to your dinner table.
I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and I do all of the processes by hand, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing.
Because the pattern varies from time to time, each piece is unique and no two pieces can be made exactly the same.
The item you receive will be the same as the product image.
The surface that will come into contact with the table will be sanded before delivery.
Using various glazes and clays, I create a wide variety of pottery in different colors and shapes, searching for the best combinations.
It is impossible to create two identical pieces, so although they may look similar, each piece is unique.
I would be very happy if you could find your favorite.
We hope you enjoy the simple, warm texture of pottery and the colors that can only be achieved through kneading.
