Yang Bamboo Tree: A distinctive name, originating from a society founded by the well-respected local physician, Dr. Lin Jia-fa of Toufen, Miaoli. Its mission is to foster holistic well-being for mind, body, and spirit, elevate local culture and knowledge, and provide a space for rest and learning. Inspired by Dr. Lin's contributions to the community, Old Goat Pens has named this particular model in its honor. The cap and body are meticulously crafted from selected South American green sandalwood. This wood possesses a unique aroma and, over time with exposure to air and sunlight, transforms from a yellowish-brown to a richer green. It features distinctive pores and natural grain patterns, ensuring each piece is a unique, randomly shipped item (this model celebrates the beauty of natural wood, a must-have for enthusiasts of raw wood aesthetics). The pen is complemented by gunmetal grey electroplated fittings and a uniquely molded clip. It also features an airtight cap design. This pen model is available with two distinct nib options: a calligraphy titanium tip or a "long knife edge" tip (akin to a long knife-edge grind), both expertly ground and adjusted from a German Bock #180 (#5) Small Standard Titanium Nib by Old Goat artisans. The Calligraphy Titanium Tip is created by Old Goat artisans who manually adjust and grind a German Bock #180 (#5) Small Standard Titanium Nib into a curved, flexible shape. This allows for varying line widths, mimicking the effects of calligraphy. Compared to steel nibs, the calligraphy titanium tip offers greater elasticity and a more responsive writing feel, providing a unique tactile experience. The "Little Tang Knife" is also meticulously hand-ground and adjusted by Old Goat artisans from a German Bock #180 (#5) Small Standard Titanium Nib. It is shaped into a knife-edge grind (similar to a long knife-edge), enabling subtle line width variations. Unlike steel nibs, it offers the flexibility and responsive feedback characteristic of titanium nibs. **Gift Bundle Includes:** A German SCHMIDT K2 ink converter (ink not included) + A special gift of a handmade green genuine leather pen sleeve, hand-stitched by a Taiwanese master craftsman (style shipped randomly) + Packaged in a premium 3952 Old Goat presentation box. **Pen Dimensions:** Total length approximately 149mm; barrel and grip section approximately 109mm; maximum diameter (excluding clip) approximately 14mm; total weight (excluding nib) approximately 32g. **Hand-ground and Adjusted Calligraphy Nibs:** 1. For the calligraphy nib, it is recommended to start by dipping the nib in ink for writing (leave the installed converter in the barrel; do not remove it, to prevent ink backflow after writing). After a break-in period, proceed to use the ink converter for filling and writing. 2. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib that has been ground and adjusted to create a curved tip capable of producing line width variations. This is achieved not solely by applying pressure, but by adjusting the pen's writing angle. Holding the pen upright results in less contact area between the nib tip and the paper, producing finer lines. Tilting the pen more or applying slight pressure increases the contact area, yielding broader strokes. The ability to write both thinly and broadly depends on your proficiency (each nib has a certain pressure tolerance; avoid excessive force to prevent damage or misalignment.
