Artist introduction_
Hippolyte Paul Vayson was a French-born painter and sculptor (1841-1911). He mainly painted the Provence countryside. In 1865 he exhibited at the Salon of French Artists, and in 1875 he received a medal for his painting "The Shepherd" and in 1879 for his "Landscape with Mouton". He was a member of the jury of the French Salon of Artists (painting department) and was promoted to the Legion of Honor in 1886.
