Saphira was developed by the Optyl group in the 1970s as a home for a range of their more fun and embellished frames, utilising the versatility of Optyl as a material. Many of the early vintage Saphira eyeglasses and sunglasses were designed by Cari Zalloni who would later go on to found Cazal.
