Have you ever encountered these situations:
• Your favorite clothes have loose threads, and you don't know how to fix them?
• The hem of your skirt or pants has come undone, leaving you to send it for alteration or simply not wear it?
• Your clothes have small holes, leading you to discard them?
• You've moved away from home and realized you've never held a needle and thread?
In reality, many minor clothing issues can be resolved through simple hand-sewing techniques.
This course is centered on **"Sewing skills truly useful in everyday life."** No prior sewing experience is needed. We begin with threading a needle and tying knots, guiding students to build fundamental hand-sewing abilities. This allows you to care for your own clothes and helps your favorite garments last longer.
**Sewing is not just about making clothes; it's a way of caring for your belongings.**
When we dedicate a little time to mending and maintenance, we also extend the time each garment accompanies us.
In this class, you will learn:
1. Understanding Basic Sewing Tools
• Introduction to common hand-sewing tools
• How to choose the right needles and threads
• Techniques for using a seam ripper
2. Fundamental Hand-Sewing Skills
• Threading a needle
• Using single and double threads
• Tying knots and securing threads
3. Most Commonly Used Hand-Sewing Techniques for Daily Life

• Hemstitch
4. How to Apply Hand-Sewing Techniques to Everyday Clothing Repairs, understanding which stitch is suitable for different situations, such as:
• Fixing loose threads
• Mending hems
• Repairing simple holes
• Basic clothing alterations
Course Features
This is a summer-limited small class workshop, operating with a maximum of 4 students per session, suitable for those with absolutely no prior sewing experience.
During the 2-hour class, the instructor will provide complete demonstrations of each technique and guide students step-by-step through practice samples. Compared to one-on-one sessions, our small class format allows for extended learning time, giving each student ample opportunity to practice, ask questions, and grasp the techniques. It also fosters interaction and exchange through peer learning.
**All necessary tools and shared materials are provided for the course.** Students do not need to bring any sewing supplies; just come with a relaxed attitude.
Completed hand-sewing practice samples can be taken home as a reference for future clothing repairs. If you wish to purchase tools or materials to continue practicing after the class, you are welcome to inquire with the instructor during the session.
Should you wish to continue practicing, tools or materials can be purchased additionally based on your needs.
There is no need to buy a complete kit; you can select individual tools or materials according to your actual requirements. Alternatively, if you prefer to have all the course tools at once, you can purchase a complete kit.
(If you already have suitable needle and thread tools at home, you are welcome to use your own, and there is no need to purchase new ones.)
