Excavated agate line beads.
Classified under the West Asian bead category (Myanmar, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc.).
Features 4 white lines.
Known in the industry as "4-line line beads."
Among line beads, 7-line beads are most common; 4-line beads are quite rare.
Judging from appearance and color alone,
they bear a strong resemblance to line beads from the Bengal region of ancient India.
The entire bead shows a reddish-orange patina from burial, and the inlaid white lines have also discolored.
They have been strung into a bracelet with soapberry prayer beads.
The length is 21cm.
Legend has it that wooden sticks made from the soapberry tree
can ward off demons and evil spirits, hence its name "Wuhuan" (meaning "no worries").
The Compendium of Materia Medica refers to it as "Muhuazi," and due to its protective properties, it is colloquially known as "Ghost's Bane."
