Sappanwood is a small deciduous tree of the legume family, originating from India and Malaysia. Known as 'Sōboku' in traditional Chinese medicine, it possesses properties for hemostasis, pain relief, and regulating menstruation, making it renowned as a herbal remedy for women. Sappanwood was introduced from China during the Asuka period and has a rich history, used to dye the attire of noblemen during the Heian period. Dimensions are approximately 118cm (width) x 197cm (length), including approximately 4cm of fringe, weighing 110g. Its generous size allows it to fully envelop an adult figure.
