Starting with no experience, we gradually explored the craft of leather production. We fell in love with the way genuine leather changes color, becomes warm and lustrous, and develops a unique patina over time. About Our Cowhide | ◆ Vegetable-Tanned Leather This refers to leather treated with natural agents, characterized by a warmer hue and more prominent pores. Compared to leather treated with chemical agents, it has a subtler scent. Its hallmark is that with use, its color deepens and becomes more lustrous, a transformation that sets it apart from its initial appearance. This process of change is sometimes called "leather nurturing." This transformation with use is highly favored by a segment of consumers. Vegetable-tanned leather also comes in different grades; the more abundant the oil and the fewer the scars, the higher the quality and price. Premium vegetable-tanned leather primarily originates from Europe, where RamahLeatherware sources most of its hides, with a small portion coming from South America. Please allow the leather to air dry as soon as possible. - Cowhide naturally has minor scars, much like human skin. Scars are more noticeable in leather treated with natural agents. Please view these imperfections rationally. RamahLeatherware has already avoided over 90% of significant scars. ◆ Care Instructions - No additional maintenance is required for regular use. However, if stored for extended periods in Taiwan's humid climate, it can easily develop mildew. Please store in a dry, well-ventilated environment or a dehumidifier box. - If the leather gets wet, avoid direct sunlight or using a hairdryer. Rapid drying can make the leather brittle. Allow it to air dry naturally. Unavoidable watermarks may appear if it gets thoroughly wet. Other Notes | • The thickness of the leather does not dictate its quality; hides are processed through splitting. • Handmade items are not perfect.
