****************************
Copper alloy. Solid cast.
Year of origin unknown, estimated to be from the 19th-20th century.
Upon arrival in Taiwan, it has been cleaned to remove oxidation.
The bead appears bright yellow when photographed, but it will oxidize and darken again if not handled or polished.
The alloy charm bead contains gold, though in small proportions.
Cinnabar was added during the smelting process.
Due to its extremely strong magnetic field, it can suppress negative entities like ghosts and evil spirits.
It serves as an excellent protective, barrier, and lucky charm.
It is also often used for consecration and creating protective spaces.
Nowadays, some people use it for spiritual practice and meditation,
placing it in altars or in cars to alter the feng shui and magnetic field.
The size of the charm beads varies greatly depending on the diameter of their base!
They can be worn daily, hung on a belt, or attached to keychains or mobile phones as lucky protective charms.
Regarding the efficacy of Dalon charm beads,
you can search online for more information.
*************************
The 4 geometric patterns on the charm bead cannot be found on Douyin (China's TikTok).
There is no information on Google either.
Even after searching numerous websites of Burmese collectors on Facebook,
which feature Buddha statues, wooden beads, ancient beads, jewelry, and opium weights,
none of these sites contain any information about Dalon charm beads.
It appears Dalon charm beads are exceptionally rare and unique.
Currently, there are three interpretations from fellow dealers in Taiwan, shared for reference.
Interpretation 1:
A seller from northern Taiwan refers to it as a Mercury charm.
Interpretation 2:
According to a dealer specializing in charm beads,
these patterns represent astrological charts of celestial bodies like the sun and moon.
Interpretation 3:
A seller from central Taiwan has researched and deduced that
these may be the earliest forms of letters from an ancient Burmese script,
carrying exceptionally special and profound meanings.
The above three interpretations
are provided for collectors' reference only.
