Old Dutch decorative "Fantaisie" wall plate made by Petrus Regout.
The Royal Sphinx factory was established by Petrus Regout in 1834 in Maastricht, and it later changed to Petrus Regout & Co. In 1899 the company's name was changed to De Sphinx, and it merged with Société Céramique in 1958. It became Royal Sphinx in 1960 and stayed operational until 2010.
The mark at the back of this plate indicates that it was made between 1879 and 1899.
This plate is in good condition, considering its age, with small surface marks, production flaws and signs of aging. It has metal wire at the back so that it can be securely hung on the wall.
