Smena cameras were very popular in the Soviet Union, most of people were glad to see contrast and sharp images. Smena camera is much smaller than for example Zorki or Zenit and was very inexpensive in Soviet terms, about 1/10-1/20 of usual Soviet monthly wage. But sometimes people can't to determine the distance without special device, it is very significant for shootings with fully opened aperture. Only external rangefinder can help in that situation!
