In this workshop you will learn the basics of ink painting tools, ink brushwork and painting techniques, and learn about the color philosophy of ink painting. You will discover the beauty of ink brushstrokes and appreciate ink painters that have shaped East Asian ink painting aesthetics. During the workshop, we will introduce the history of traditional ink and brush handcraft in Taiwan. You will use Taiwan's only handcraft ink stick to grind your own ink to create your ink palette and experience hands-on the ink brush craftsmanship that has been passed down since the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan. This workshop will provide a space for you to relax and let the brushstrokes flow with your breathing to help you achieve mind-body connection and unfold your creativity. This calligraphy workshop is located at the heart of Yongkang Street, which is home to the famous traditional Taiwanese Tea Culture.
