White clay that offers a clear glaze and a rustic, pottery-like texture.
Beautiful "yamabuki" yellow glaze with crystalline variations, and a subtle off-white matte glaze.
This is a round, charming mug created by combining these two glazes.
Typically, mugs and teacups are often finished with a light-colored glaze on the inside to enhance the beverage's color. However, in this piece, we've intentionally reversed that convention and applied the glazes in a split-tone manner.
The darker color on top creates a sense of depth and refinement, resulting in a mug that is both endearingly plump and round, yet possesses a clean, sophisticated presence.
Perfect for coffee, café au lait, milk tea, or hojicha latte.
Also suitable for soups like potage or minestrone.
Enjoy a cozy, relaxing time with your favorite drinks or dishes.
All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in our studio, which is equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel.
While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, allowing you to appreciate its individual charm.
The item you receive will be the exact piece shown in the product images.
The base where the mug meets the table has been sanded smooth.
We explore various combinations of clays and glazes to create diverse pottery in a range of colors and shapes.
Each piece is unique, appearing similar but truly one-of-a-kind.
We would be delighted if you find a piece that speaks to you.
We hope you enjoy the warm atmosphere woven by the clay and glazes as a part of your daily life.

*Important Notes for Purchase and Use*
- Due to the porous nature of pottery, it may absorb liquids, potentially leading to staining within the crazing or seepage of moisture.
To address this, we apply a waterproofing treatment using a food-safe sealant before shipping, so there is no need for initial "kome-nuki" (rice-water) or "kome-yuki" (flour-water) preparation. This waterproofing process requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement.
If you prefer not to have the waterproofing treatment, please inform us at the time of purchase.
- Cutlery shown in product images is not included.
- We strive to capture and edit product images to be as true to the actual item as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions. Please be aware of this beforehand.
- As this item is also sold on other platforms, in the event of overlapping purchases, priority will be given to the customer who completes the purchase process first. We appreciate your understanding.
- While microwave reheating and dishwasher use are possible, the vibrations from microwaves and the high-pressure spray of hot water may accelerate deterioration. We recommend using them sparingly.
- Please refrain from using this item in ovens or over open flames.
- After use, please wash thoroughly and ensure the item is completely dry before storing it in your cupboard to prevent stains and mold.
