Crafted from a coarse red clay, this bowl allows you to enjoy the comforting warmth and a delightfully textured feel unique to earthenware.
Molded into a plump, round, and simple small bowl, it has been fired with a beautiful contrast of lustrous white and light blue glazes.
Where the two glazes meet, they melt and flow together, creating a distinctive pattern.
The lighter areas of the blue glaze reveal the natural color of the clay, allowing you to feel the earthy texture of the material.
The size is just right for use as a rice bowl.
The light blue hue pairs wonderfully with colors like yellow and red, making it an excellent choice for dishes such as corn rice, mixed bean rice, or sweet potato rice.
Naturally, it's also perfect for enjoying soup or dessert.
We hope you'll delight in using it with your favorite culinary creations.
All stages of production, from kneading the clay and shaping to the bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in a small electric kiln with a potter's wheel in my home studio.
The rounded form, the rustic texture, and a slight heft all contribute to the authentic feel of pottery.
While mass production isn't possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering a charm that only handmade items can provide.
The item you receive will be the one pictured, and there are currently two available.
As each bowl has subtle variations in size and form, photographs of both items are provided at the end of the product images.
While stock lasts, you may select your preferred piece by letting us know your preference at the time of purchase.
To ensure the surface is gentle on your table, the base has been carefully sanded smooth.
I continuously explore new combinations of various glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of pottery in different colors and shapes.
Each piece is unique, appearing similar but truly one-of-a-kind, as exact replication is impossible.
It would bring me great joy if you could find a piece that resonates with you.
May the cozy atmosphere created by the earthenware clay and glazes add a touch of daily beauty to your life.
