For the first wash, please use a standard neutral detergent several times. Alternatively, you can use a paper towel dipped in edible oil to wipe it down a few times; this easily removes any residual grey titanium powder from the manufacturing process. Then, wash with neutral detergent. Since food-grade oil is used for stamping and no acid pickling is applied, residual grey titanium powder is unavoidable. This is a non-toxic, safe pure titanium manufacturing process, and it is safe to scrub. 2. If there are burn marks or stuck-on food, you may gently scrub with the abrasive side of a sponge or a soft steel brush. 3. If the colored surface of the titanium is scrubbed off or the original color is revealed, rest assured that because it is not a coating, the pure titanium is safe, non-toxic, and contains no toxic heavy metals.
