The calm, deep hues of the ghost Shino glaze, intertwined with gilded details, exude a mysterious and commanding dark aura. The teapot lid features a finely sculpted large gold toad, symbolizing the gathering of wealth and abundance. This blend of unique craftsmanship and Eastern aesthetics adds a sense of ritual to tea drinking and makes for an exceptionally unique collectible.
The sculptural elements, such as the knob, are hand-sculpted, appearing lifelike with auspicious connotations; it is both a practical tea vessel and an elegant centerpiece for your tea table when not in use.
The glaze used is Shino glaze, originating from Mino, which is a white glaze primarily composed of feldspar; yuhuayuart applies this specially formulated Shino glaze to the vessel, resulting in a warm, soft finish with rich layers after firing.
The ghost Shino style is achieved by applying dark Shino glaze after bisque firing, with precise control over kiln temperature and high-temperature reduction to create a calm, deep, dark glaze with a mysterious and imposing quality.
The interior features a smooth Shino-glazed surface that will develop fine, crackled patterns like golden threads over time with exposure to tea. As you use it for daily brewing, the tea color will gradually seep into these lines; the crackle pattern usually becomes visible after about a month, with the color deepening after two or three months, allowing you to curate a personalized patina on your tea vessel.
The final gilding process uses 24K liquid gold (genuine gold) applied by hand and fired to set; the golden luster is warm and understated, shimmering with the play of light and shadow.
Works from yuhuayuart are dedicated to those who cherish details and appreciate the nuances of a refined lifestyle, turning every tea-drinking session into a continuation of enjoyment and taste.

Care Instructions | Gilded Works
Please wipe the gold-layered areas gently with a soft cloth. Avoid scrubbing with scouring pads or stiff brushes, and do not soak for long periods in detergent. Do not place in a microwave (as the metal may spark) or a dishwasher to prevent the gold layer from wearing or flaking.
