The Demi Parure series, which comes with a matching necklace, is adding a new piece from the Chinese hairpin brooch series: "Rakugan Bijin." I think the necklace turned out a nice blue as well. The center of the clasp is accented with a dayflower-colored Kyoto opal. I hope this reaches all those who love blue...! This hairpin is inspired by the hairpin of Wang Zhaojun, also known as the "Rakugan Beauty," one of the four legendary beauties and the Four Great Beauties of China that have been passed down in Chinese history. Wang Zhaojun was a tragic woman who was married off from the Han harem to the foreign Xiongnu. While in the Han harem, she was surrounded by many other wives and was never noticed by the emperor. When choosing a woman to give to the Xiongnu king as his queen, he refused to bribe the artist who was to paint his portrait for the selection, and as a result, he ended up painting her as ugly, and it was decided that she would be sent to the Xiongnu. Apparently, when the emperor met Wang Zhaojun for the first time during an audience before his departure, he was astonished by her beauty. During her travels, she played the biwa, thinking of her hometown, and the sound of the music was so sad that it made the wild geese flying towards China fall... This metaphor is the origin of the word "rakugan." Even though she was an empress, she had traveled to a country with completely different culture and customs, and one that was considered a barbarian nation by the Han Dynasty at the time, so it is not difficult to imagine that she endured many hardships, big and small, throughout her life. Since she is a tragic woman, the overall color scheme is Silver to reduce any flashiness. Since it is a Rakugan (rakugan sweet), we added metal parts in the shape of bird feathers. The predominant colour scheme is blue, representing the blueness of the sky during the journey, the sadness and purity of character of the man who did not commit any corrupt acts such as giving bribes. The lovely beads with a flower lover pattern on top of the feather motif are typical Chinese cloisonne beads. The neatly shaped Swarovski crystals feature lapis lazuli colored pearls and light turquoise colored crystals in the center of the flower lover. Czech beads of various colors and shapes were scattered throughout the piece, including a vivid transparent Capri blue, a soft opaque blue, and a flattened teardrop-shaped cobalt blue hanging from a fan motif.
