This is an SDGs-conscious Kintsugi jewelry piece, upcycled from ceramics by Fukukikama, a kiln based in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, known for its Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery. We reuse broken or chipped ceramic pieces that would otherwise be discarded, applying Kintsugi to transform them into accessories. Our concept is to create modern accessories that connect to the future, allowing people to feel closer to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, thereby fostering new possibilities. This piece features elegant ceramic shards adorned with floral patterns, complemented by Blue Lace Agate. The sides of the ceramic fragments are finished with Kintsugi, allowing the gold accents to shimmer beautifully from every angle, adding a touch of refined elegance. This work utilizes a modern, simplified Kintsugi method. Unlike traditional Kintsugi using natural urushi lacquer, this process incorporates adhesive for bonding.
