Chen Xuan-Heng is a Taiwanese ceramic artist renowned for his wood-fired pottery and his brand "Xuan Tea Ware." He founded the "Zhuo Yun Yue Heng Studio," dedicated to crafting handmade tea ware, vases, and incense holders.
Artistic Style and Philosophy
Chen Xuan-Heng's work emphasizes the natural flow of hand movements and brushstrokes, enhanced by diverse textural decorations. The wood-firing process creates rich layers of ash glaze, showcasing a harmonious blend of nature and human artistry. His "Sea Rhyme Series" teacups, inspired by ocean waves, capture the layered movement and dynamism of the sea.
Beyond ceramics, Chen Xuan-Heng is passionate about self-learning and playing the traditional Okinawan instrument, the "Sanshin." He frequently shares videos of himself singing and playing on social media, expressing his love for Okinawan music.
