This geta stand is called “funagata” because it resembles the shape of the bottom of a boat.
It is a toothless type and can be used like sandals.
The surface of the stand is finished with Akita's traditional craft "Kabazaiku".
It is a luxurious product made by peeling the bark of a wild cherry tree, thinly processing it, polishing it to a luster, and applying it to a paulownia stand.
The hanao is made with "horse hair", a fabric made from horse tail hair.
Even a skilled craftsman can only weave about 10cm per hour.
The hanao straps, which are luxuriously made from this rare fabric, elegantly accentuate your feet.
The fluffy flower straps are made with a brushed inner lining to keep your feet soft and secure.
