Wood: East African Blackwood (Purple Light檀) - Currently considered an endangered wood species.
East African Blackwood is classified among the heaviest and hardest woods today. Its color ranges from deep purplish-brown to near black, with a smooth, dense texture, few visible pores, and rich oil content. It is a famously difficult wood to source, known for the saying "ten sandalwood trees yield nine voids," and it significantly wears down tools. Its wood grain is clear and varied, earning it the title "King of Woods."
