The cat and horse embody the phrase "Cats bring wealth, horses arrive smoothly," with the cat symbolizing the arrival of fortune and the horse signifying smooth sailing and unimpeded progress in all endeavors. In the artwork, a calico cat from the alley outside our studio is often seen chasing birds. Here, a Japanese white-eye bird is playfully trying to peck at it, as if to shoo the cat away. ◆ Calendar Poster Specifications: The design features a blank space at the top, intended for use with a magnetic poster clip.
