He is celebrated for merging Western realistic techniques with the traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock printing style. His works primarily feature landscapes, depicting famous sites in Japan, scenery in Europe and America, and the South Pacific islands. Biography and Background Birthplace: Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan Education: Studied Western painting in Tokyo during his youth, apprenticing under renowned artists such as Takeuchi Seihō. His early works focused on watercolors and oil paintings. Travels in Europe and America: In the early 1900s, he exhibited oil paintings and watercolors in the United States and Europe. He achieved great success in cities like Boston, Chicago, and New York, accumulating a rich international perspective.
