The green of celadon is elegant and understated, with shades as varied as clouds and mist, or the lustrous glow of jade. It is said that the poet-emperor Song Huizong described this green hue as: "After the rain, when the sky clears and the clouds break, create a glaze of this color." ................... For over 30 years, Fuchang Kiln has quietly focused on firing celadon and monochrome glazes. The resulting celadon glazes are warm like jade, clear like ice crystals, and smooth and delicate like solidified cream, exuding a restrained luster that is neither ostentatious nor flashy, but approachable and refined. Paired with classic designs, wooden handles, and dot glazing techniques, we aspire to integrate the elegant celadon aesthetic, imbued with literati sentiment, into everyday tableware. ................... | About Each Piece | All ceramics from Fuchang Kiln are handmade, and slight variations in detail are inevitable between pieces. During the kiln firing process, unpredictable elements like ash deposits or iron specks may form unique patterns, which become the distinct mark of each piece. We will provide photos for your confirmation before shipping. ................. | About Fuchang Kiln's Crazed Glaze | We pursue simplicity, so we have intentionally created a single layer of crazing. Visually, after maturation, it will develop crackle patterns resembling the shell of a tea egg. These patterns form as the piece cools after firing and will continue to change; they are not fixed. Before maturation, you can use your phone's light to view the general direction of the cracks. These cracks do not affect the functionality of the piece. As it is used, colors will seep into the cracks. Black lines are called "iron wire cracks," ochre lines are "eel blood cracks," and brown lines are "gold thread cracks." Their ever-changing appearance imbues each piece with vitality. ................. | Precautions | -Fuchang Kiln ceramics are fired at a high temperature of 1240°C and can be safely cleaned with a sponge or in a dishwasher. (Excludes products with wooden handles; wooden parts must be kept dry) -Ceramic pieces made of a single material can be used in ovens or electric cookers for heating. -Ceramics are fragile items. They are carefully packaged before shipment.
