NARUWAN: 3952 Old Mountain Goat - Our Beautiful Homeland, Majestic and Elegant Writing Edition. Carefully selected Golden Camphor Wood, treated with a high-definition, high-gloss finishing process. This high-definition, high-gloss finish involves repeatedly applying clear lacquer and then polishing until the natural pores of the wood grain are completely filled. This process requires dozens of lacquer applications. The high-definition, high-gloss technique results in a smoother surface, offering a more refined writing feel and making the exquisite wood grain appear more three-dimensional and vivid. It also makes the pen easier to maintain, protecting the wooden body from accidental ink stains. However, this meticulous process incurs higher costs. Both the high-definition, high-gloss and standard finishes have their unique charm, catering to different tastes. The Old Mountain Goat fountain pen is proudly presented to you, and we thank you for your support. The high-definition, high-gloss finish resembles the luster of fine wood trim in a luxury car, so polished it's mirror-like, offering a distinctively substantial feel. Most finishes on the market are merely polished or waxed, making this kind of labor-intensive treatment exceptionally rare (natural grain patterns, quality items shipped randomly). The fountain pen is fitted with grey chrome-plated clip and accents. It features a barrel-shaped, airtight twist-on cap design and a uniquely molded clip with a special spring mechanism, making it a delight to hold and use.
The nib utilizes a German JoWo #6 (WIN #12) flexible steel nib (EF tip), expertly hand-tuned by Old Mountain Goat artisans into a flexible calligraphy nib capable of producing varying line widths. This allows for a unique brushstroke-like character, offering a distinct writing feel that is durable, resilient, and easy to master, making it an ideal entry-level calligraphy nib for beginners.

**Hand-Tuned Calligraphy Nib:**
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to dip the nib in ink and allow it to condition for a period before using a converter.
2. If you experience skipping with a converter, check your writing angle. Ensure both iridium dots are simultaneously making contact with the paper; avoid writing on only one side. If skipping persists, check the nib for paper fibers or debris.
3. Remove the converter and try filling the pen directly from the ink bottle (plunger fill).
4. Rinse the nib. If you write with one side of the iridium dot consistently, or apply excessive pressure, it can cause the iridium dots to become misaligned, leading to scratching and paper fiber buildup in the slit.
5. The calligraphy nib is an EF tip that has been shaped with an intentional curvature. Line variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by the angle at which you hold the pen, utilizing the nib's inherent curve to create varying line widths. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area with the paper, producing finer lines. The more you tilt the pen, the larger the contact area, resulting in broader strokes. The ability to write with varying thickness depends on your familiarity and skill.
In response to environmental protection, we do not automatically provide paper bags. If you require one for gifting, please specify this in the order notes after purchase. Thank you.

**Note:** Regularly wipe and maintain the interior of the barrel and cap. When not in use, avoid leaving the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
**Gentle Reminder:** Do not press down on the nib while writing, nor should you write consistently with the left or right side (for right-handed writers, it is recommended to angle the nib towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position). This helps prevent accidental misalignment of the iridium dots, which can cause scratching and ink skipping. Rinse the nib with clean water regularly to prevent ink clogs that can affect writing quality.
**Gentle Reminder:** Flexible calligraphy nibs can withstand a certain degree of pressure. Begin writing with a light touch and gradually explore the nib's flexibility. Avoid applying excessive or erratic pressure, which could lead to nib damage or misalignment.
