This black floral Milan grid-print slip dress
is a design I'm particularly pleased with this season. The floral fabric,
I felt, was beautiful the moment I saw it.
It's a fabric with a wonderful sense of depth.
Beyond the elegantly printed large black flowers, the base fabric features a subtly crinkled textured dark grid pattern, not pure white,
but with a hint of pale yellow-beige. The fabric has a lovely drape, offering a flowing and comfortable feel.
The irregular black paneling on the chest breaks up the complexity of the large floral print.
To ensure the dress is practical for everyday wear,
the shoulder straps are adjustable.
Paired with a black shawl-style jacket, it can be worn well into autumn,
expertly flattering the lines of the arms.
A voluminous skirt design.
The overall silhouette is relaxed and flowing, with pockets on both sides and a cinched waist.
Yet, it doesn't feel restrictive.
When adjusting the pattern, I allowed for some ease,
retaining the waist-cinching, slimming effect while also prioritizing comfortable wear.
Worn alone in summer with a straw hat, it evokes a French sensibility.
In autumn, it serves just as beautifully as an inner layer paired with a suit.
